Union Ministers inaugurates Digi Dhan Mela


 
Hyderabad, Jan 18 (INN): Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and Union Minister of State for External Affairs M.J. Akbar inaugurated the Digi Dhan Mela at People's Plaza in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

In order to promote digital transactions, Niti Aayog and the State Government of Telangana jointly conducted a two-day 'Digi Dhan' mela in Hyderabad from today onwards.

While addressing the media, Dattatreya said that Digidhan Mela creates the awareness among the people towards digital transactions. He further said that this Mela is very much helpful for the farmers, labour and workers to open bank accounts and also enroll for Aadhaar Card. He opined that money plays key role in human life; the NDA government has been working to eradicate the poverty and to improve the livelihood of the poorest of the poor in the country.

Speaking on the Digital literacy, the union minister said that in Telangana State 5,45,148 people were trained in digital transactions at gram panchayths level and 1lakh 29thousand small business people were also trained and more than 350 workshops were also conducted. He further said that in Telangana, 65,000 of small business traders are accepting cashless transactions in Mandal level while purchasing of goods. He also said that it is good to see that Siddipet is on the way to become as cash less transaction city. He also said that after demonetization 50 lakhs New Bank accounts were opened through EPFO and ESIC across the country by setting motivation through awareness camps.

M.J. Akbar said that Technological Revolution was sweeping across the country and this era is technology revolution era; the true importance is delivering technology services to the poor and the poorest of the country. The technology can improve the livelihood of the common man, he said.

Akbar also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a man with Practical Vision. He stands to eliminate the poverty and corruption in the country. He urged the bankers and financial institutions that they should work together for the development of the poor in rural areas across the country. Speaking on the corruption, the minister of state said that corruption steals the Natural resources of the Nation. The Union government has been working to create a historic revolution to combat black money and corruption which is not happened in last 70 years.

Senior officers of Banking industry, People from different walks of life, including students, professionals and the common public are attending the Mela where officials and volunteers are explaining how to go to digital transactions. The Niti Aayog has been organizing these Melas across the country as part of its '100 days, 100 cities' drive to combat black money. Several central, State governments, Nationalized Banks, Public and Private Mobile service providers have setup their stalls and demonstrated their efforts for change over to cashless transactions in order to business activities and public services.
