Inter-State meeting on Tiger protection Hyderabad, April 3 (INN): The inter-State coordination meeting of Telangana and Maharashtra Forest officials was held at Adilabad on Wednesday. The meeting was aimed at better interstate coordination between the both the state Forest Departments at ground level for better management of Tadoba- Andhari-Kawal Tiger Landscape.
Three important Tiger Corridors have been identified. They are Thipeshwar ' Kawal Tiger Reserve; Tadoba ' Kawal Tiger Reserve and Indravathi ' Kawal Tiger Reserve.
The officers of corridors of both the states under the supervision of officials of NTCA have discussed the Problems and mitigative measures for Tiger management. It has been decided to monitor the Tiger movement in coordinated manner, exchange of information and technology. It was also decided to have meetings between both the state forest departments at regular intervals for better coordination.
The participants also shared the recent incidents involving Human ' Animal conflict and best practices.
The meeting was convened by National Tiger Conservation Authority under the chairmanship of Anup Kumar Nayak, Additional Director General, Project Tiger and Member Secretary, National Tiger Conservation Authority.
The meeting was attended by Munindra, Addl.Principal Chief Conservatot of Forests (Wildlife), Telangana Nitin Kakodkar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Maharashtra Field Directors of Kawal, Pench and Tadoba Tiger Reserves, Deputy Inspector Generals and Assistant Inspector Generals of NTCA, DFOs, FDOs, ACFs and Range Officers of both the states.
