Once people have access to Internet our rural kids could blow away the English medium students. Fifteen years ago New York Times wrote the US collage graduates are not able to write few paragraphs without grammatical and spelling errors. After Internet everyone has become a writer. For many years I worked on simplifying Telugu script. I reduced it from 56 letters to 37 letters. I eliminated all Mahapranalu, ruru, lulu etc. It will go an long way in removing the confusion. Many kids don't know when to use soft 'ka' vs hard 'kha' etc. If anyone is interested, send me an email, and I will send you my article. Technology is the answer to save our language. Child who learns telugu(mother tounge) better is the child who can learn English better. Mother tounge allows the kids to think more analytically and end up better decision makers, and others will end up as clerks unless they are brought up in English speaking countries.
