you seems to be very enthusiastic and service oriented person.make use of that attitude in initiating people by making them realise their hidden potentials(with respect to your collegue who was scolded ).I suppose that could benefit much more.prior to all this analyse the situation ,the persons who encouraged you can even talk much more when the situation is vice versa.never react instead read and realise what you are doing.Reduce your pace nothing should effect or reflect your being .small resolutions leads to great revolutions i believe. Yes. We do come across tough and rough people who do not have a standard in behaviour. Situations compel us to act and if by doing a good thing, we help many it is welcome. Similar type of incidents and situations many people face in real life in India. In my service history, I had to really sack people for indicipline number of times, due to corruption or malpractice and indicipline. At times, I used to wonder and feel sad but we have to do our duty. Duty is God in work place. We are not fighting elections and we are supposed to do our duty. What u did was entirely apt for the situation.

Let me put it this way.You acted instinctively and spontaneously to what he had done to you and thats what counts.Many people would wait for an outside person to fight for their problems.I like the way you handled the situation by yourself which i guess is the right thing to do.There's nothing wrong in teaching people how u want to be treated.
