I think the answer is Rs20 as the shopkeeper is left with a damaged Rs20.

Second day shopkeper exchanged the damaged note which may not be useful so here 20 Rs
He has given a change of 5 Rs to the gal
and pens worth is 15
So total loss is 40
Am i correct??

He has given 20rs to another shopkeeper,ofcourse which is damaged. Next day shopkeeper has come to him n taken another 20rs note,giving him the damaged one.
So he is in no loss,no gain situation.
