I must be free from the poison of Truth-Prejudice--
For I am immense in my prejudice,
Both the ancient and the inexperienced.
I must be free from that narrowness of tradition,
The narrowness of custom, habit, feeling and thought,
The narrowness of religion, worship, and adoration,
The narrowness of family and of possession,
The narrowness of love,
The narrowness of friendship,
The narrowness of my God and my form of approach to Him,
The narrowness of conception of beauty,
The narrowness of my work and my duty,
The narrowness of my achievements and glories,
The narrowness of my rewards and chastisements,
The narrowness of my desires, ambitions, and purpose,
The narrowness of my longings, and satisfactions,
The narrowness of my struggles and victories
The narrowness of my ignorance and knowledge,
The narrowness of my teaching and laws,
The narrowness of my ideas and views-
I must be free from all these.
