During my last vacation, I travelled from San Fransciso to Hyderabad. The first leg of the journey was on a singapore airlines flight to singapore followed by Air-India flight to Hyderabad. I am proud to be on our airlines but its horrific to see the vast contrast in the comfort, service and feel as compared to the other major airlines.
Observations :
[1] The big mustache steward passes by shouting 'seat belt ... seat belt'.
[2] Most of the passengers get up immediately after the plane makes a touch down and open the overhead bins and pull out the luggage, despite the captain's warning to be seated until the flight comes to a complete stop at the gate.
[3] The passsengers from the back of the plane rush forward pushing their way, without any consideration to the passengers in the front rows.
[4] FAs: Less smiles, serious/rude service, very unhelpful.
[5] Lack of promptness in the scheduled departures.
Service :
The flight attendants are very arrogant. They are less motivated and seriously lack service standards. You need to request couple of times to get a glass of water, and finally when they serve, its literally as if it is thrown at your face.
Management:
The management is incompetetive and lack motivation to improve the stature of airlines. As it goes, 'Every one knows whats the faults/blunders are, but no one takes courage to fix it'.
While smaller private airlines are flourishing offering decent service, AirIndia lags behind in the competition. If the same saga continues, there will not be many new passengers attracted towards it by its virtue of its service.
