Wind (Air) is also considered as God (‘Vaayu’) in ‘Sanatana Dharma’. Science knows wind as a source of energy only. Oxygen in air is the prime fuel for human existence on earth. Humans breathe oxygen from the ambient atmosphere every second throughout their life span uninterrupted. However, till date this has been made available free. No Govt. has ever thought of levying tax on this may be because it is limit less in nature. Thanks to the mother nature. Let us make a wild imagination that Govt. starts billing its citizens for the oxygen consumed by them @ $ 0.01(one cent) per cub.metre. Would you be able to pay at all? If calculated you would get heart attack. The entire humanity would be distressed and life on earth becomes miserable. Thanks to mother nature once again! In return to this super gesture of nature what humans are contributing to keep the atmosphere clean and free from man made pollutions? Is that mounting petrol and diesel emissions? Chemical effluents? industrial wastes? Nuclear explosions? The list goes on and on. In ‘Sanatana Dharma’ wind is deemed as a form of God and worshipped as ‘Mukhya Prana’ or ‘Hanuman’(the monkey God).Does it not sound rational to adore such generously natured God?. Fire is a tremendous source of energy. To day human lives are so much dependent on this source that life is hard to imagine without fire. In ‘Sanatana Dharma’ fire is worshipped as ‘Agni Deva’. Fire is symbolic of purity. A ritual called ‘Homam’ is carried out with fire before taking up any vital tasks in one’s life. The God Agni is the divine messenger who receives prayers and oblations and conveys them to the heavenly spheres. Misuse of fire can cost life too. Next of the ‘Panchabhutas’ is Earth. Man lives on it and is dependent on it since the origin of life. In ‘Sanatana Dharma’ Earth is considered as Goddess and worshipped as (‘Bhoo Maata’) Mother Earth.A symbol of tolerance and endurance. In India a ritual is in vogue in which the land is worshipped called as ‘Bhoomi Pooja’ which is done before the excavation for the foundation of a building or mansion is taken up. Agricultural farmers have great reverence to the Earth as they make their living by farming.
