Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) in Vizag Smart City.Temporary campus from the AY 2016-17 at Andhra University until built their own campus at Anthakapally Village in Sabbavaram Mandal. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 4th February between IIPE and Andhra University to start the IIPE sessions during the academic year 2016-17. The MoU is for a period of 3 years till the period IIPE sets up the infrastructure in its own premises. The MoU is facilitated by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. Petroleum University at Sabbavaram Mandal in Vizag Smart City. Govt.of Andhra Pradesh allotted 150 acres of land to the proposed Petroleum University at Anthakapalli (V) in Sabbavaram (M). Classes will be commenced from the next academic year.Andhra Pradesh governmenthas allotted 100.42 acres of land in Anakapalli, Parawada and Munagapaka mandals of Visakhapatnam district to Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for setting up ‘Indian Institute of Packaging’ (IIP) and a Packaging Park.
APIIC would take steps to set up Indian Institute of Packaging’ and a Packaging Park in this land Vizag currently sources its packing material from Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Japan and Sri Lanka. Hence, the proposed packaging park would help the industries in and around Visakhapatnam get packaging materials locally. The park will benefit various sectors such as marine foods, pharmaceuticals, fruits and apparels. APIIC invites Request for Proposal (RFP) for Selection of Consultant for preparation of Detailed Project Report for the proposed Greenfield Electronic Hardware Manufacturing Cluster (EHMC) at Gurrampalem near Pendurthy in Vizag Smart City. The due date for submitting the proposal is over.The Anandapuram-Anakapalli state highway will be converted into a six-lane national highway bypass from Anandapuram to Anakapalli via Sabbavaram at an estimated cost of Rs. 1000 crore, for which a detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared. The 48-km stretch will be able to divert the traffic from the congested City NH-16 road.
