The month-long Karthika Masa Homams commenced in the Lord Shiva temple at Sri Kapilateertham in Tirupati on Saturday with Mahaganapathi Homam. The temple priests performed Pooja, japam, homam and Laghupurnahuthi to the deities amidst chanting of vedic hymns. This ritual was followed by nivedana of the eight favourite delicacies to Lord Mahaganapathi.
