Chief Priest of the temple Dr Ramana Dikshitulu explained the mythological glory and historical significance of the temple to the Prime Minister as he went around the temple after the darshan of Lord Venkateswara in the Ananda Nilayam. Pedda Jeeyangar of Tirumala presented the Melchat Vastram of the Lord to both the Prime Minister and the Governor Sri. E S L Narasimhan.
