Osman Sagar, hugely popular as Gandipet lake opened the 8th gate, after a decade later on Saturday. It is the first time after inflows reached 1790 feet when 8 gates were open. The last time the gates were opened in 2000 September. Gandipet as a popular tourist destination has lost its charm during last ten years as the reservoir hardly receives inflows to open its gates for surplus flood water.
