New map of Andhra Pradesh with 28 districts and Amaravati as capital. With the addition of two new districts of Polavaram and Markapuram the number of districts in Andhra Pradesh has gone up from 24 to 28. At the time of bifurcation there were 13 districts in 2014. Later the YSRC government increased the number of districts to 26. Now Polavaram and Markapuram districts were created for administrative convenience.
