Major irrigation minister Sudharshan Reddy arrived at Nagarjunasagar along with Panchayath Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy and IT minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and opened the crest gates to let out nearly three lakh cusecs of water from the dam. 26 crest gates were lifted to a level of seven-feet to release water to the downstream.
