More than 900 people were killed and 1700 people were injured in a powerful earthquake that rocked the Himalayan nation of Nepal, leveling homes and centuries-old temples and triggering avalanches. The earthquake, which measured 7.9 on the Richter scale, sent tremors throughout much of south Asia.
