Somerset won a pulsating game of cricket against Deccan Chargers in the fifth match of the Champions League Twenty20 off the last ball of the game. Chasing 154, Somerset were struggling at 99 for 7 at one stage, but managed to get themselves into a position where they needed one run off the last ball with one wicket in hand! Couldn’t possibly have got closer, could it? The star of the last few overs – and indeed of the game – was Alfonos Thomas, who scored an unbeaten 30 off only 17 balls and saw his side through. Almost all the Somerset batsmen got starts but none of them managed to convert them into something big.
