Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, born 1 November 1973, is an Indian actress and former Miss World. She worked as a model and gained fame after winning the Miss World title in 1994. Cited by the media as the most beautiful woman in the world, Rai made her movie debut in Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Iruvar (1997). During her career, Rai has acted in over forty movies, including the international productions Bride & Prejudice (2004), The Mistress of Spices (2005), The Last Legion (2007) and The Pink Panther 2 (2009) in English. Later that year she appeared as a master thief, Sunheri, in Yash Raj Films's Dhoom 2 directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, with an ensemble cast of Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Uday Chopra. The film turned out to be a blockbuster and became the highest grossing film of the year in India, earning revenues of over Rs 770 million domestically. Rai was married to actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2007.
Abhishek Bachchan, born 5 February 1976 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is an Indian actor and the son of Indian actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. He is the husband of Aishwarya Rai. Bachchan debuted with J.P. Dutta's Refugee (2000). In 2004, the actor delivered a hit and a critically acclaimed performance, in the films Dhoom and Yuva. His performance in the latter was praised, for which he received several awards, including his first Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category, an award he would win for the two next years as well. Since then, Bachchan has starred in films that have been commercially and critically successful, establishing himself as one of the leading actors in the industry.
