Kalabharathi, a cultural organization in New Jersey organizing social events for more than 8 years has celebrated Telugu New Year Ugadi festival at Swaminarayan Mandir in Somerset on March 20th. More than 500 people attended this program including children. Ugadi festival marked the beginning of the Telugu traditional new year Vikruti Nama Samvastram. Program started with Pooja, Prarthana, and Panchanga Sravanam.
Several dance programs both cultural and bollywood style followed the traditional prayers. Well known Singer Madhu sang classical songs. Dance teacher Swati and her students made the day memorable.
Various community leaders and businessmen also attended this fun filled family event.
