Active Blogs | Popular Blogs | Recent Blogs A few days back we made a visit to the richest God on this earth i.e. Balaji temple in Tirupati.The moment we landed at the Tirumala hills, we experienced the wonders of that place. One can feel the rich culture that makes the temple so famous.The beautiful hills that surround the temple give a feeling of bliss and solitude to the soul. The cool breeze there on the hills soothes a person's body and mind.
After hectic journey,we were mesmerised by the nature's beauty.As the place is flooded with devotees all the year around.,we rushed to buy tickets for the Lord's darshanam as soon as we reached the Tirumala hills.
Now-a-days,even God discriminates between people. If they are rich,then they will have a faster communication with God. Those who buy the expensive tickets for the Lord's darshanam don't have to wait much longer.But the people who cannot afford or those who don't want to spend so much on God's darshanam are totally neglected by the temple authorities. As all of us wanted to be in the comfort zone, we bought tickets to Sheekgradarshanam( fast darshanam which takes atleast more than 45 minutes!! and this is called sheegradarshanam?)As this was our 1st visit to Tirupathi after marriage and along with my new born twin neice and nephew, we took another ticket for Vasanthovatsavam-it is seva to be performed by the devotees and we were pretty excited that we are going to do the rituals directly to our beloved Lord!! (actually it is not performed but we are the mute spectators)
The pooja was scheduled in the afternoon at 2:30.As it was our first time to perform the pooja,we were curious to know what exactly was done there. We were indeed lucky as people do not even get more than a second to be in front of Lord Balaji and we were going to spend one full hour seeing the splendid decoration of the God as well as the mandapam.We reached the pooja mandapam at 1:30 and the puja started 2:30 sharp. Dress code was compulsory for the Grihastas(married couple). With music like drums,shehnai, and blowing of conch shell came Lord Venkateshwara into the mandapam and seated on a golden throne and the pujaris started performing the abhishek
As i was a mere observer many thoughts crept in my mind. At first. Lord was bathed with milk, then it was with honey followed with turmeric water and at last with coconut water. After every ingredient Lord was again give bath with water Then came the turn of "Sahastra"abhishek. A sieve of 100 holes was kept upon Lord's head and water was poured from the seive.Lord and his 2 wives were bathed at east 40 times.Liters of milk,curd, honey, coconut water,drinking water were consumed only for 1 pooja. The thought crept in my mind, Are we really poor? Will Lord Balaji solve all our problems by doing this? Will he solve the numerous problems like corruption, malnutrition, terrorism, droughts, floods and many more?
Every thing there was made of Gold and silver and thousands of kilos of laddus were offered to the deity.But we have complete faith in Lord Venketeshwara that by worshipping him whole heardely with so many offerings, He will definately solve all the problems of our country.He has to see to it that our country is free from all evils in the society.
I too am religiously inclined but i think the need of the hour is to worship the humanity. We need to sit up and think about all these things.My train of thought was disturbed by the 'Aarthi' and the pooja also came to an end. And I was compelled to believe that"Here is God's Plenty!!
Rama Krishna Rao A | You said that THE RICHEST GOD.The richness is because of the offerings people give.It is the belief of majorityof the people the by giving offers of money from their earnings they get PUNYA.We can not change the traditions as they are followed from time immemorial.
However in the name of these Archanaas large scale correption is going on at the Devasthanam.Telugulo sameta vundi kadaa" kanche chenumeste kaadanevaadevadu ani"
manam emee cheyyalemu. Aadevudichina kallato chuddam tappa.
