'Watch the news!"."Read the newspaper"."Beware of what's happening around you," My teacher used to implore us.

But these i feel nauseated myself to watch the news. What are watching these days? About a professor asking his students to explore each other's bodies? About a teacher raping/molestrating young girls/boys.About drug addictions and betting sports?

About cricketers frolicking parties instead of putting in practice?About godmen cheating on the public trust?Can we expose our innocent and immature minds to such facts,even if it were harsh reality?It is embarrassing and unpalatable to watch even the news with youngsters,even more than it is to watch a movie!

The outrageous breed of newsmakers is many. Our media has no dearth of sensational news, made more sensational and shocking by their reporting skills. Exposing of someone's extramaritals or premarital issues Live telcasting by the media would show how the levels of our society has stopped down.Such telecasts would push out our age old system of marriage aside. Live-in relationships,flitting across relationships without commitment and responsibility is the new name of modernity. And finally the youngsters becoming victims of insecurity and seeking psychological help rise alaraming. The institution of family is to be pointed out first as it is failing to instill values in children.

Today kids dictate their parents, parents pamper their children, fail to teach disciplin and ultimatley losing control on their overall growth..The theory of been child's best friend is fine but the immature minds needs mentors to guide them.

Entertainment media like TV, Internet,films are sure to be blamed for misguiding young immature minds, buy providing concepts about life which they are not ready for cause them loose their child like innocence.Watching porn, immature emotional outrage even at tender ages.

Schools too are playing nasty role in the disaterous output of of the students as most of the schools have turned commerical. No moral values are imbibed from teacher to the student as now a days there is no respect for the teacher, more often as there are teachers who don't command respect. The academic results are more concentrated than inculcating moral values.

Parents and teachers need to awake and act on the right hour to stem the erosion that we see around in our society today. Media needs to provide with better real shows like developmental programmes by the locals of rural areas where we can learn that our society too has made wonderful achivements.

I remember with the nostralgia the 9'o clock news where my whole family used to sit and watch it. It was completely uncorrupted news enriching our young minds to get pure facts and uncomplicated news happening from our society.. The weather report never went false.
