Who is Right and Who is Wrong - Contd.

This is a continuation of the earlier blog posted.

Children living with parents should realise that parents love them and they do every thing to keep their children happy, in most of the cases. They should also learn to give respect, love, concern and attachment in return. Then that family becomes much stronger. I see some children stay with parents but they give a feeling to parents “Just to save on room rent and food, he/she is staying with me. She/he does not care about me or her dad” . Some mothers say. In such cases, parents have a right to tell them what they are expecting. Enough is enough. It is not all the time “Give, give, give” just from one party only. There should be proper reciprocation too from children.

Having said all this, I have seen very closely some families where their children grow
as healthy and successful individuals and keep in mind the family togetherness and warmth which gives real happiness in life. Money and wealth will never and can never replace the feelings of attachment, bondage, love and care for each other. So, in order to have that parents have to really be strict with children in making them understand what is discipline and how it pays in the long run. If all families live together, it consolidates family life and the society also becomes stronger. Living together with harmony has many benefits, which every one should realise and work hard for it. There is a proverb in telugu. Rogam Rattu, Samsaram Guttu. So, blaming our own children in the public and coming on TV shows and complaining is not good at all for a healthy living. It will aggravate the situation at home too. So, let us all give a serious thought when children are crossing their limits or not going in the right direction. As parents we should be ultimately responsible for their behaviour. We have to plant good seeds from childhood, so that they grow healthy and strong in all respects.

Here who is right? Who is wrong? Are parents to be blamed for expecting children
to be more responsible once they grow up as independent individuals? Or should we
Say that it is right to ask children to get out of the house once they start earning? Or the youngsters since they think that it is their right to stay with parents and lead a free life as they wish? My support goes to parents who encourage children to become independent and responsible, but at the same time share the responsibilities in the family. I do not agree with parents who want their children to get out of the house once they become adults. Give them a chance to grow in a secure atmosphere where they feel and expect moral support of parents. Children always need parents guidance in certain situations. Because parents are experienced and they care for their loved ones. But I also expect young adults who are successful in their careers to behave more responsibly towards parents and give respect to their ideas and if you think that they are not right, use your skills to explain why you feel that way. Help them make a good decision. Unity is strength always. But youngsters, please do not exploit parents. Their love should not become their weakness towards you. You should derive strength from their love and try to build your empire based on that. Mothers! Do not overdo things for children. Teach them their duties too so that they will learn to share the responsibilities and care and mutual respect in the family.
