| ABK Prasad once again betrayed facts and deprived common sense. He believes that international organizations like World Bank, IMF, WTO are responsible for India's economic problems. World Bank gives loans to governments of various countries in the world. India is just one of them.
When these longterm loans are sanctioned, the Bank stipulates certain conditions to enable the loan receivers to use the money productively. The entire idea behind this stipulation is to enable the receiving country to develop economically instead of allowing the money wasted on useless projects.
Don't take the loan if the conditions are unacceptable. It is that simple. People like Prasad who still live in the 20th centrury cold war days attack America for anything that happens in India. He thinks that high cost of cement in India is World Bank's responsibility. He condemns the basic economic theory of Supply and Demand and attributes it to the big trade. He asserts that the World Bank is responsible for the govt. to give up control over the industries. On the one hand he emphasizes that the big business has entered 'beedi and jadee'
retail trade at the expense of a small trader; on the other he criticises the big business concentrates more on luxury items at the expense of day to day needs.
He alleges that the transfer of cetral revenues to welfare schemes and to the states is progressively reduced because of the World Bank's stipulation. It is agreed by all right thinking persons that the price of oil has gone up because of greater demand from India and China. Asian countries in general, and India and China in particular are rapidly developing. This guy condemns the development of automobile industry in India.
