| ' Pandugalu jarupukundaam ' We celebrate festivals -- for what ? for why ? what to be done ? Miss Bhavani's thoughts are interesting and thought provoking. It is time to celebrate the festivals with understanding and knowledge.
As mentioned by Madhavi, a vedic Indian festival is significant in several ways namely, spiritual,philosophical,religious and socio-cultural. Celebration of festivals has the underlying message of celebrating our life. Celebrations of various festivals like Sri Ramanavami, Sri Krishna Janmastami have sustained the dynamic nature of Indian human values and culture. In fact our festivals are our culture.
A celebration of festival and its message is usuful. We are aware that every festival has a background of some happening and a message given by a story relating to the festival. Parents and grand parents should tell this to the young in the family.
we are going to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmasthami on 23r of August this year. Miss Madhavi may write about the significance of this great festival. I will also give a audio or video on the siginificance and message for our bliss and personality development.
