Why Tamilians have so much pride for their language because they do not borrow sanskrit words unnecessarliy. This is not case with Telugu. Ask yourself a question why? The Andhra Brahmins who have migrated from North India 2500 years ago and their mother tounge was sanskrit and there was no written script existed at that time. Telugu script was invented during the Buddist era, and Andhra Brahmins borrowed it and wrote Sanscrit in Telugu script and called it 'Andhra bhasha'. When Nannaya translated Mahabharatha, he called it 'Andhra Mahabharatham' not 'Telugu Mahabharatham'. Gidugu Rammurthy fought against Grandhika bhasha, but unfortunately Grandhika bhasha vadulu control our Unversities, Newspapers, media, Movies and pushing sanskritized telugu in our throats. Most of the Telugu newspapers filled with Grandhika bhasha vadulu and not the Telugu Bhasha vadulu. Our temple prayers are in Sanskrit, not in Telugu. Telugu Bhasha is spoken in Telangana and Rayalaseema. We have to take it back in order to grow and develop pride of our own language. Please read Ramesh Sm artilces on this forum about our language how it flourishing still in Tamilnadu and Karnataka against all the odds. Telugu people always feel proud of their Telugu language but not Andhra bhasha, a disgused Sanskrit in Tellugu script.
