Hi sir, It was an article equivalent to any qualified thesis on this subject. I greatly appreciate the work and vast info provided. You have condemned the system that has been condemned by every other person on earth. Though your motive was to build a good background for your article, it loses its assense when you spend most of the time criticising it. We all know sati was of no good, we all know about the dowry harassments, we all know about the atrocities against the women. But they all have come down drastically...they will go in few years or a couple of decades. One thing i would politely argue is the way you have criticised india along. It is a world wide problem. Men were strong and women were weak (i mean physically)around the world. Women always required protection. So wherever there is power..there is misuse unless there is a superior power monitoring it. The so called western countries have equality of women in more recent history. It was not like this for ever. You could see the difference in India too. Girls/women are bold now. I think one of the woman airforce officers was today was promoted to highest position in Air Force. Things are changing...we have to be patient. I believe the article should be thought provoking and it is...but I am afraid it may be provoking also. If you read your article again..it has multiple angles to take. I also do not support the reservation system. We have already made a mess of it. The only reason I see why India couldnt get rid of the caste system is the reservation system. For example the only way one could make out that a particular person is of lower caste in a class room is by his reservedness. I encourage special classes...motivating programms to make the weaker compete with commons. Do not make them weaker again. There is a chance that they may become lazy. Women should awake by awareness...do not drag them into mainstream. In India women also get greatest respect. I have seen western women...who live most of their life in a confused state of mind..they are married now and then, they are in pressure. We better not speak of the Arab world. I am with you with every statement of the article...but may be it has to be restructured. I am inspired by your article...I cant see them taken in a wrong way.. All the best
