The word 'silence' doesnot indicate dullness .It is Dynamism which drives the cosmos.Without Dynamism or purusha ,all energy is like a ship without navigator.
Lord vishnu in sleeping pose on a big serpent,Adi seshu. The serpent is sybolic for Energy. Lord vishnu is sybolic for Dynamism.Devotion or wisdom is the tool to realise the dynamism inorder to be independent entity in the cosmos.Then only the real life starts.
