| Hi
Its true that we have people with fundematalistic ideas who rule us. Its sad. You did talk about lot of things that shouldn't have happened. There was one thing you missed out.
"What should be done about this?"
"How can we stop further events of this kind?"
When it comes here, the solution is bit difficult. THe problem is, its difficult to make "mass" understand the real implications of a Hindu state. For an average hindu with an average intellectual capacity, it wouldn't make much difference if the its "Hindu state" or a "secular state". The strains in the economy and the implications of the communal riots are too abstract for him to understand. Neither can the humanity feeling help. (a hungry person is not bothered about brotherlyhood, nationalism, humanity etc etc).
All that can be done is "expose the brutal mind of the fanatic minds which can go to any extremes given power. Make the person feel that he is going to be the next target. Directly or indirectly."
Though this is not a convincing solution, I really fear about the question "what can be done".
Any ideas?
Samatha.
