Ms Prasant garu. Modern dress sense doesnot mean that tight jeans or revealing tops. In saries and dress there r so many varieties which give good look and great value. What I want to say is S.India ppl should never feel inferior as I hv observed it many times. Language : Hindi is correct national L, I hv seen many of the s.India ppl donot know hindi (tamil's, kerlites, in AP (Andhra Side).) reason is they are not interested to learn as they feel if they learn they are giving importance to N.India language. Again we are looking negative side. S.India ppl are going to learn spoken English but not spoken hindi.. First lets learn our national language so that we can speak to any indian anywhere. Ofcourse English is also must to get good job or to impress the interviewer.. but we should not forget our own country language.. I'm not saying to become perfect but atleast can able to communicate to an Indian.

Oh my!! This topic got Offtrack ...Mystry ji.I like all languages and have no problem accepting Hindi as National Language because it is in fact spoken and understood by the Majority.Definitely, like Telugu Hindi is a sweet language.Even today I cherish and enjoy the 'dohas' of kabirdas and tulsi das and other literature I read in School and College. I was just pointing out that Many North Indians Feel that they are SUPERIOR than South INdians and in my personal life I had the opportunity to reside in Delhi,Andhra Pradeh and USA.It has been my experience no matter where I stayed that I observed this Silly attitude in MOST (NOT ALL) North INdians. Chakravarthy garu, meeru cheppina points correcte gaani manam kooda vallani ala treat cheyadam ..motham North Indians ne hate cheyadam..thappu sir.ala chesthe manam vallani criticise cheyadam lo ardham ledhu ..Why? because we would be behaving the same way as some of them behave towards South Indians. and Mr.Chakravarthy, i am a pass out of Roorkee.. never dare to say a word against my alma matter...i respect it in the same way as i respect my hometown...my language n culture taught me tht...from where i am seekin goddess Saraswathi, i shudn't kick it with my legs.. i know how telugu people behave when they r in Roorkee..i don wan to make the character of teluguites nude in front of all.. better u take ur words back for Roorkee... wow tht is a grt hypocrisy. first of all leme answer bit by bit.. ppl need to understand a lot..and i mention tht ppl plz b aware to get back to this page to read others' comments... i hope u won't mind tht.. comin to N.India, Delhi is the heart of India..at least the capital...so whatever modern revolution comes, tht comes to Delhi as it is the center of attraction. In pursue of this modern life, the normal person had forgotten the basic values of an Indian..Even ppl frm N.India left their basic values in the name of modernization...and for all those who think tht this doesn't in Hyd, it is time to wake up..get to any inter college especially only girls and u can see girls wearin minis to the college!!! isn't this ridiculous?? now let us discuss point by point. Language: Hindi is widely spoken by many of the people at the time of freedom movement and keepin this in view, it was made the national language.. one of the rumour regarding this is tht Tamil was promised to b national language but as it is not reachable to a common man in India, Hindi was the alternative and hence Tamilians hate Hindi a lot..i donno how worthy is this story but many believe it... Hindi is as sweet a language as telugu is...but we never had that patience to try to learn tht..and now even N.indians don' have tht patience, Govt made it a strict rule over here in N.india tht Hindi shud b practised by all..so we shud pity them for the reason they don' have enough sensibility to respect their mother language...at least we love and respect our language and we praise it...'maa telugu thalliki..' pity for north indians as they don' have any such thing to sing n praise n thank to their land n language... well, we always say tht Tamilians do have a grt ear for their language and prefer not to use any language even with a person who doesn't know Tamil!!! isn't this ridiculous?? bhaasha bhaavani ki pratheeka... mana bhaasha mana beliefs ki chihnam..we respect ppl a lot n we don wan any discomfort even to communicate in English or Hindi when needed.... did u ever heard the beautiful comments tht a stranger from an unknown land lands in Hyd and leaves happily..i heard them...they say tht they never felt tht they were away from home...ppl try to communicate to convey wht they wan to tell let it b a North Indian... the beautiful comment i have heard when i was passin in AP express was :' thank u very much sir for makin us feel like at home. we never felt tht we came to roam Hyd..if time n chance permits me, i wan to visit AP once again for the reason the ppl here r really helpful and whoever u talk to, they try to respond in ur language (Hindi here) so tht we feel comfortable. we owe to u a lot the happiness tht AP ppl gave us..God bless AP' this was a conversation of a lady with an APite..so don' u think this credit goes to all APites n not a single one in particular.. Oil: in N.India,ppl don' prefer to put oil in hair unless n until b4 a headbath b'coz here it is too sultry to have oil in hair and roam around..even we feel irritated and so south indian girls who r living in N.india prefer not to put oil in air n get irritated..not to b fashionable (i hope i am clear to u mr.Chakravarthy) now u ppl may argue then y not in cold climate...in cold climate once u keep oil in ur hair n see after 5 mins, u can see the white hair on ur head..thts b'coz the oil gets solidified. Lipstick: here b'coz of too much cold, ppl need to protect their lips and hence lipstick which contains moisture in large quantities and acts as a screen..now what r we south indians doing? answer to urself..do we need it?? we r Indians..we needn't provide an explanation to our fellow brother/sister (an Indian) for our acts...we emerged out of a culture where our customs r prior to us...we respect wht we r and y we r... emerge our humans...into this world with a stronger resolution to become a perfect creature on earth... in fact South indians have goddess Saraswathi on their tounges...and N.Indians have a blend of how to lead a practical life?? so y can't we make use of our talents and mix up ourselves so as to b more powerful than anyone?? best wishes, Mystry.

I forgot to add. I love 'Hindi' a lot. What is wrong in making 'Hindi' a national language. It is very easy to learn and speak. Let us not differentiate ourselves. As the title of this article goes: 'We are all Indians'.

I will give a big hand to chakravarthy. eMta kOpamO :) I do not agree with Mahendranath. What is wrong in applying oil? What is bad in that? What should be dress sense? Tight jeans and revealing tops? The way we dress, the way we present ourselves is no doubt important, but that doesn't mean following north blindly in whatever they do.

Jyothy garu, I donot agree with u..? Infact south Indians feel inferior complex in front of North Indians becoz they know they are not well dressed, they apply oil to hair (ladies), they are bit dark, they donot do makeup.. I feel even south Indians also should compete, we should v.modern, well dressed, well maintained. If we dressed well then we ourself looks like stars and others can never comment on us, they will feel inferiors before us. So manamu A endaki aah godugu pattli.. Lets changes and change the system. why not .. we can make the difference.. I'm not saying to change completely but atleast for that time or moment like parties, shopping where we meet public. Thappu manadaggar pettikoni inkokalini antey baagundadu.. Lets make it..!! and feel it..
