Mrs.Bindu Sajeev, Iam Ms.HimaBindu, I have read the article which you have posted, I think it were the words of our President, Mr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. But let me appreciate your idea of putting it on the net. After listening to his(Mr.President's) speech, I felt that everyone should listen to it, this is been fulfilled this way. Coming to the point, my thoughts, what can we do for our country. The ultimate answer is 'Realization at all levels....that, this is our home', we need to keep it clean and tidy, free from insects like terrorism, anti-social activities, bribry, false politics etc. For this we need to educate our people. This is not possible by simply, advertising on newspapers, television sets, or on radio. The question rises how is this possible. The answer is, we need to step into the backward areas, where the poor exists, and tell them the importance of education, and help them to undergo education. This program can be conducted by the school students, college going students etc, either in summer vacation or in winter vacation. This must be undertaken by them as project work, some grades must be allocated to the work they have performed. Then even our children will know, what the actual world is? This must be the role of students. On behalf of the government, it should provide, the equipment for the project, and also, certain allowances for the students, for example, bus-fare, lunch etc, for the students who carry on the work. Next we must try to improve the financial standard of the poor. First, our task is to bring the people who are under the poverty-line, to cross it. This is possible, by the following way, · The cause for financial crisis among the poor are the following: 1. Lack of work culture. 2. Habits like drinking, smoking, other recreational activities. 3. The feeling that, they are inferior to others. 4. Lack of proper ambitions. · Inorder to remove the above crisis, we need to combat with the above evils. How is this possible??? · A proper strategic way of planning there income must be thought to them. The backbone for any country’s success is people’s faith in government. The job of the government is very well laid in our constitution, but it is not practiced. There may be hundred and one reasons for that, but we should, at least now work for a very peaceful country. Our country must be a temple to all religions. It is everyone’s responsibility to build a good character for our country. It is not out of patriotism, that I’m claiming for such a request, but for the love for HUMANISM.

I am being in USA be able to see the basic need for any development since the mirror(USA) right in front of my face to shape up India. People are in confusion and no cooperation. There is no development because there is no unity. As long as the current system exists it will be multiplied and get piledup to a big heap of mess and becomes very hard to clean. That is where the India is now. I don't believe in solving a problem by splitting/deviding. India need Republicans and Democrats and independants to checks and balance only but not so many parties. There will be yes or no for any question/problem but not different openions with different reasoning. It is the responsibility of Judicial Personnel to look in to and guide the PEOPLE WITH RIGHT SYSTEM being established. Please let me have your feed back on my openion. Thanks for your cooperation. Sincerely, Venkat

some of my plans as what i can do for india... 1: as I am fortunate I can vote in india..so i will give my vote to a reltively honest person(even if I know he can not win the election). 2. I goto elementary schools(preferably govt maintained panchayat schools in villages) and will encourage the students by doing what ever i can to make their daily life happy..(including the teachers life there) I am sure I can do this,And i did it previously...and it gives me immense pleasure to see brightend faces of children and their teachers.. ..i am already in the process of selecting the things I am going to do once I land in india(SOON) I think and convinced that the government of andhra pradesh is doing some thing in villages which is bringing some change.(forget factions) 3.By Gods grace i learned somany things here ..including my professional things.. I will pass them ,free,,on to the needy and deserved persons so that they will get good jobs in minimum time..and can make their mothers happy.. 4. I am thinking of building a big shed (like thing)with coolers..for aged people .so that they can come and spend their afternoons(in my home town)I have seen elders suffering and even dying( yes dying just because of heat!!),irrespective of their economic and caste status.I myself not rich ,I used to buy those screens with roots(vattiveyllu)and fix them to the windows of the room and keep pouring water..water, again is very scarce there... I know the pain ...I have seen sons and daughters who are in middle class not able to help their parents in summer time..summer is really horrible for them as most of them will have diabetes(which needs lot of water) ..and other diseases, which makes their life miserable. 5. I will encourage the people whom I can influence to move to smaller towns and villages..this way we can control pollution and all the uncleanliness..I will negotiate with govt to make scetic toilets there..Govt can also provide good amenities if they spread across the land!!and we can grow our own food there...(like vegetables etc) (in usa you will abundantly find lot of hamlets..) I myself will live in a near by village or suburban area(which is cheaper, healthier too) 6.Help temples in villages and other places to flourish again..as more temples makeroom for cleaner areas and devoid of alcoholism. .... great days are ahead for india.i can see it in usa in papers and in economic discussions in the companies i worked and working..china is a competitor, but not a rival..nor it can never eliminate us... we have presidents like kalam, and leaders like vajpayee and people like haren gandhi( he was awarded the best technolgy award this year in usa) and all of you..nice telugu people..who could take their time to think and act about whatand how to do to make india better... let us not dwelve into the bad that happened in inda and for india..NOT forgetting it..we will march on..already we are well ahead of several other countries..in many areas we are first..and in many,'top 10'.. just we need to keep this work going...we must try to reduce the corruption both moral and materialistic...first in ourselves( at least I dont think I am 100%'non corrupt' ..) and then in public services.. I will do my work tomorrow more seriously than ever so that my boss(an AMERICAN ) will be impressed and next time will have a good opinion of indians work and it will help my fellow indian to get that first go in the interview... this is what i can do immediately .for my people.. all the things i mentioned i will definitely do and write to you all of its success some time in future... have a great day sudarshan

Madam, I am herewith sending you a portion of my article "We can make India a better place to live in". For complete article you can contact my email: k_sreekrishna@hotmail.com Systems have been developed to keep the new township clean. There are many reasons why our roads are not clean. Dustbins and urinals are not maintained at every place. We can see warnings on the walls that those who urinate on the roads would be punished with a fine of Rs: 5/-, but what is happening in practice. We find the urinals at a distance of 2 or 3 kilometers. You cannot expect everybody to go that long just for urinals. Similar is the case with bust bins. See also our tendency, if the road is spotlessly clean, we do not dare to throw any waste paper on the road. If the road is dirty, then we throw the waste paper without a moment of hesitation. In the new township, everybody will be educated on how to follow the rules. 80% people try to obey the rules. What about 20% people who do not care the rules. Suppose, you threw some waste paper on the road, suddenly a school boy comes and puts it in the dustbin before you and says not to drop the waste paper on the road again. Then how do you feel, ashamed or not. 10% people would come in line and do not do it again. But still 10% people who do it again. Then they can be punished by making them to do social service for some days. In the process, they come to know how hard we are trying to keep the roads clean. But still about 2- 3 persons who continue to do the act again and again. Then it is our turn to punish them with stringent fines. If there is a rule that we should not throw garbage on the roads, then the people try to follow it. How many cities in India passed this rule? Then how does anybody expect the people to follow it. This can be done only when there are some persons who give us directions. In the new township systems have been developed to coordinate and guide the people.

Dear Mr Pratap Kumar Paruchuru, dont be misunderstand as i am going to be a little personal. I appreciate you admire(d) that article and the person who delivered it. If I assume correctly you are once again pointing to others which was not at all the goal of that article. Please refer to your statement "IF ONLY THE COMRADES LET ME....". Just I'll put small questions for your reference... 1. How many times you complained in Complaint book of Railways when you were waiting for train and the train was late. it improves them to improve their services. 2. Where you through your tickets (bus / train) are any garbage? 3. whats your real contibution to india so far? 4. For sure, I hope you got good education with the help of indian govt. In turn what you gave to INDIA. or what you are going to give? Finally, every thing will have obstacles/problems. Try it out. you may face problems, some ppl around you may not simply let you do what you want. Try again and again then you will get success. Dont simply say "others will not let me to do.". It looks like escapism. Please excuse me if I am little harsh. but thats all the truth.

I think that India cannot move forward unlesss the people respect diginity of labour. Whatever may be the vocation of the person, he should not be penalised for the work he does for his living. Until this is done, India cannot move forward, leave about being a developed country. There should also be fair wages implemented in practice and not in paper. To overcome these two things in India, one should not have caste or religion system and should have uniform civil law irrespective of caste or religion or region.
