Articles: Humour | The Oedipus Complex | |
| My dear author,
I do not say you have copied any earlier material, but you have proved to be cleverer than the famous Vikramaarka, who could not answer this riddle ( of course, you too did not!).
The background for this 'riddle-like humour' is available in the 25th story of 'Betaala Pancha VimSati (Pancha vimSati =25)'. Vikramaarka, who could till then answer all the earlier 24 riddles with his prowess, could not answer this one. In fact, Betaala himself declared that this riddle does not have any answer. (If you are familiar with Algebra, remember any quodratic equation having both roots as imaginary roots!). Betaala later helping Vikramaarka was rest of the story.
Mr. Balachandar, the famous Tamil film director, used this theme for his film 'Apporva Raagangal'. If I remember correctly, Dasari made this film in Telugu as 'Toorpu - PaDamara'.
Any way, go ahead with more novel ideas!
