Nice article and thanks for bringing in this stuff. My earlier two replies are infact aimed at discussing on other's views than commenting your article itself.

Knowledge definitely don't mean university degrees. Many a times, Common sense is what make sense, than what degrees you hold.
Attitude is what you perceive and how you respond in a situation.

Knowledge is essential to succeed. Attitude can't match with knowledge. Infact, in interviews and tests, one can't measure the attitude properly. We have to interpret the results properly. This statement does not indicate that those 85% doesn't have the skills required. But they are supplemented with right attitude.
Attitude is like steering while knowledge acts like fuel to your vehicle. Steer in the right direction to succeed.
Just by Standing in right direction, you can't cover the distance and reach your destination. You need power to propel towards your goals.
And on the otherside, though you have enormous power, if you move in the wrong direction, you reach no where.
With attitude you can acquire knowledge and with knowledge you can build your attitude.
Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible. Suddenly you are doing the impossible - St Francis.
