| hi..i dint say anything abt Vandemataram....i said only abt the novel and its way of writing....well, personally i dont think who u mentioned can identify themselves with the situation here...i cant imagine them in these scenes...perhaps if u read the novel u can feel it...ofcourse, u might have already read it too....anyways, no personal grudges meant..this is jus my opinion!

i appreciate your zeal to introduce Bengali literature in this site.any literary work is confined by time zones.obviously it has to be.but any great work will surpass these boundaries & remains as great as it was in its initial days.i dont think anand math has lost its punch in present day.a cleaver reader from bihar can always imagine ranbir sena type private army instead of british army.if he/she from kashmir, put militants in the place.when time & characters match what left is dialogues.won't they match??
Anandmath's great contribution to our country is Vande Mataram.there is piece of information that this song was written much before anand math.this song is still reverberating in the hearts of every indian.this song is much appealing to me than our national anthem.i feel that this song has the essense of bankim's imagination about Free India.if this song is not appealing to present day, we can dismiss anand math as irrelevent too
