Stupid questions fromn my side - What have Naxals achieved so far through their path of violence vis a vis the people they have lost in encounters or otherwise?
Have they been able to throw any Govt out? (If one claims that Chandrababu lost due to tacit undertanding between the Naxals and the congress party, then its a failure onthe part of Naxals since it contradicts their own ideology)
Why dont they contest the elections an check how many people are actually supporting them, if they claim that they have popular support?
I am sure they know that they can not defeat the state by use of force since the state is much more powerful than these organized gangs. And lemme tell you these people havent faced Indian Army/BSF yet in a full-fledged battle.

Also,
One might be tempted to support the Naxals due to the failures on the part of the Govt. But it might lead to a situation wherein there would be dozens of private armies or a consortium whose common agenda would be to fight the Naxals but the activies go much beyond that -- and the people supporting Naxals would not be able to criticize those private armies.

They might feel that they are not wrong but majority does. If I kill a guy because I dont like his face and later call him a capitalist or an informer to justify my killing, I dont think it makes much sense.

May be you are right to some extent. However, calling them 'ZcËÍQaRsúc¯Íx¤s§ÌsvQ' is too much of an accusation.

What else do u call the guys who kill Inmdian civilians with the support of ISI? If their fight is agaisnt govt, let them eliminate all the political leaders irrespective of their affiliations to political parties. The common man would be more than happy to embrace them. But if they continue their atrocities like that, it wont be long before AP becomes a Hub of another Ranbir Sena or Salwa Judum and the final result would be a Civial war along Rayalaseema Factionist lines.

Well said. I agree with most of it but definitely not the last point. No one would buy the argument that the current batch of naxals are part of a movement like their predecessors in 70s and 80s. It's an obvious fact that many of those naxals have got their own personal agendaz.
It's also a fact that these so called Champions of Civil Liberties are the #1 promoters of Human RIghts violations.
