I tell you guys one thing...when did this so called 'common man' brought a house in growing city???? even before this price hype also, a common man never dared to buy a house in the city unless HUDA or APHB gave them at outskirts like uppal, kphb, kondapur, miyapur which are almost remote areas during the period when they alloted , something around 70's , 80's and early 90's. I have seen myself a HUDA layout in Nizampet road on my last visit to India 3 months back, which is a very prime location now and even today that entire 50-60 acre land of plots are not used at all and it seems like a forest now, beleive me. Now those people who go the allotment from HUDA 20 years back kept that land vacant and want to sell their plots at Rs 20000 per sq.yard??? This is what happens with common man if land is given. Now also these organisations can allot them plots something around 70-90 KMS from HYD, but will they ready to get those houses???? Anyway good news is HUDA is planning to build townships at 5 different locations(Shamshabad, Timmapur, Nallagandla and 2 other places) 1000 plots at each location and each plot consists of 850 Sq.Yards costing around 6 lakhs.

We can agree there would be future growth NOT to the level where buying a house becomes impossible to common man now . Not short of land but currently what is going is a hype or artificial build up thinking something is going to happen to hyd. Actually theres surplus land vacant in hyderabad & surroundings ,all is that its being held up realtors/people expecting HIGH PRICES.

Good article...but its only one side of the multi faced gadget. Govt Of Andhra Pradesh , (irrespective of political parties) is doing a good job in promoting different sectors of industries not only in HYD but in almost all areas where there is a scope. I personally feel that increase in land prices is OK but not to this extent in a short period, but conditions in HYD are exceptional.

Well said Mr.Viswanath. I do not think government cares that much about the prices. As they are only thinking to make money out of it. No doubt HUDA is really screwing the HYD real estate market. Now building a house remains as dream forever even upper middle class as well. Someone has to fire both HUDA and Andhra government.
