Posted by: Mr. Mrithyunjaya Rao Pinnamaneni At: 14, Sep 2006 4:09:46 PM IST I started browsing this website today and one of the features that attracted my immediate attention was this four-part series by Mr. KSR Prasad. (We can leave aside or ignore the carping reactions that these excellent articles have occasionally received). All well-meaning readers can immediately make out the author's intentions and his genuine concern. Yes, Telugu language as it is being spoken and written is facing grave danger. (I have had some limited experiences of my own which I will perhaps share in a separate article of my own some day.)
The important point is that the minimum care that should be taken by the writers and speakers of Telugu language seems to be vanishing at an alarming rate. Competent writers like Dwa. Na. Sastry are doing commendable work in this direction and I feel this writer has definitely contributed significantly to the same effort.
What is very praise-worthy is that Mr. Prasad took the trouble of raising his voice against the deterioration while the rest of us have either been blissfully unaware, indifferent or just muttering and cursing silently.
These articles should receive much wider publicity and I request the author to see that they re-appear in print media (if he has not already done so).

Whether as an individual, or as one of the team of my ilk, I could see only 'ill-humour' in your comments. Then, there is no specific point to justify/defend my stand regarding my article, other than the one which I already answered you.
Nor am I a messiah for a particular category of people.
What I expected was a sort of constructive criticism, which unfortunately was not to be found in your comments. I hope you will at least agree that we will not go tangentially further.
Thank you very much once again.

No one is aphorism or niggle you that your business is to ‘Fortify the Browbeaten’.
It is irksome point to make out that you didn’t comprehend the gist of a comment, which is not allied to an individual.
One thing I can acknowledge – You have ‘unmitigated right’ to deem whatever the way you aspire to, even like 'somebody is prejudiced and you are THE broad minded soul'.
Posted by: Mr. Bavaria Bavaria At: 10, Sep 2006 4:45:28 AM IST Mr. Bavaria,
I can only say onething - you are prejudiced.
Otherwise you would not have used such words as 'poking nose'. 'Poking nose' is used for 'uncalled for' interference in others' matters.
In fact, that is precisely what you have tried to do in your lengthy letter.
Then, for the big list of words cited by you, you are welcome to come out with 'true, effective and prospectively popular' Telugu translation. (If you have some patience, you can find my opinion regarding the usage of such words in my article itself.)
Most of the stuff given by me is out of my first-hand information. I tried to project the problems as well as solutions for most of my findings. Only thing I find with many is 'Lack of will'.
You are talking of AC Rooms versus poor man etc. I do not think those things have got any relevance to the topic under consideration. I have been contributing my mite for this cause by adopting some different direct and indirect means. This does not need certificates from persons like you.
One more thing - Definitely it is not my business to 'uplift the downtrodden', for which there are a lot of self-styled & self-appointed custodians including politicians.
Social service can be in many forms,
one of which being 'sharing the feelings of
like-minded people whenever there is a deterioration in standards and trying to throw more light on the state of affairs'. That is precisely what I tried to do. After all, this is not a crime!
Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 10, Sep 2006 2:34:30 AM IST In a day-to-day life, how many of Telugu pundits do use exact simple Telugu words instead of below a few English words?
Web site
A.C.
Refrigerator
Fridge
Fan
Car
Lorry
Truck
Apple
Inter net
Bus
Pencil
Remote control
Nightdress
I saw several postings about criticizing TV serial or Movie producers, if you guys think that you are awfully good at language, why don’t you come up with a nice Telugu TV channel and serials?
Who is bugging you to watch that stupid TV serials.
Why don’t you guys start a dignified Telugu newspaper and make it popular.
Why don’t you make a great movie in Telugu?
Instead of criticizing other’s effort at free of cost in a simple web site like this.
As a matter of fact, simply sitting in an A.C. room and writing this kind of article certainly does not make any waves in the society.
As a minimum, did you guys ever try to distribute a little knowledge of your great Telugu to any inhabitants who are monetarily backward in the society?
Anyways, keep poking someone’s nose with your articles and think that you are making drastic changes in the society.
This is a Telugu people site, how much Telugu is there in it, look at the headings like Articles, Home, Columnists, Categories, Albums, bla bla….
Why don’t you guys write the executable solutions to keep alive Telugu, rather than poking others nose?
