Amazing.,,,amazing.. I was expecting a Brahmin to debate me and support Varnashram since I wrote quite a lot against caste system, instead a very nice Christian is defending Holy Bible since I made few referances to slavery in the Holy Bible...!!! I know it is not easy for a Christian to accept the fact that Holy Bible supported SLAVERY. But the fact of the matter is HOLY BIBLE referred to SLAVERY many times and whole heartedly supported slavery. Slavery was sanctioned by many verses in the Holy Bible - in the Pentateuch (the first 5 books of the Hebrew Scriptures - Old Testament. SLAVERY IS PART AND PARCEL OF THE HOLY BIBLE: 1---I always wondered how church going, loving caring Americans had no problem to forcefully bring millions of Africans from Africa and make them slaves... 2---I asked myself what about the Christian love and compassion. How can they do such horrible things to human beings. How can any one treat human beings worse than animals........Slavery was legal in the United States for almost two hundred and fifty years. 3---WHY A GREAT MAN LIKE THOMAS JEFFERSON who is one of the founding fathers of American Constitution and Bill of Rights had slaves?? BECAUSE BIBLE SUPPORTED SLAVERY. 4---Why a great leader like Patrick Henry, the great orator who coined the famous slogan, ""Give me liberty or give me death,"" was, ironically enough, a slave owner??? BECAUSE Slavery was sactioned by Holy Bible. 5--ANSWER CAME FROM HOLY BIBLE... slavery was sanctioned by Holy Bible. That is why a very devout Christian like Christopher Columbus had no problem making American Indians slaves. That was the reason why devout Spanish had no problem making Mayans slaves. 6---Good loving, caring, church going Christians considered it quite appropriate for one person to own another human being as a piece of property. 7 Slavery was an accepted fact in Jewish history. "TREAT YOUR SLAVES JUSTLY AND FAIRLY, KNOWING THAT YOU ALSO HAVE A MASTER IN HEAVEN [Col. 4:11]. 8 "THE SLAVE IS HIS MONEY" [Exodus 21:21]. St. Paul urged one slave ONESIMUS to return to his master. It is said that the ships that carried slaves from Africa, had gospel hymn AMAZING GRACE penned to the ships, indicating that people who made poor innocent Africans as slaves, were very devout Christians. They did not see anything wrong in making black Africans as slaves.. 9---1: Lev. XXV:44- 55 "Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids. 10----Thessalonians 3:22 "Servants obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God." 11---Throughout the colonial period, opposition to slavery among white Americans was virtually nonexistent. 12------Jefferson Davis, President of Confederate States of America said : "Slavery was established by decree of Almighty God...it is sanctioned in the Bible, in both Testaments, from Genesis to Revelation...it has existed in all ages, has been found among the people of the highest civilization, and in nations of the highest proficiency in the arts." 13---During 19th century , Rev. R. Furman, D.D., a Baptist pastor from South Carolina proclaimed " The right of holding slaves is clearly established in the Holy Scriptures, both by precept and example."----- 14---Rev. Alexander Campbell said "There is not one verse in the Bible inhibiting slavery, but many regulating it. It is not then, we conclude, immoral." -- 15---If you read world history you will see that church has supported slavery . During 595 AD, Pope Gregory dispatched a priest to Britain to purchase Pagan boys to work as slaves on church estates. The same Pope also wrote , " "Slaves should be told...not [to] despise their masters and recognize that they are only slaves." 16---During 1537 AD Pope Paul III wrote "Native Americans were not to be enslaved. Only hostile non-Christians, captured in just wars could become slaves. 17----In 1548 same Pope said that any individual may freely buy, sell and own slaves. Runaway slaves were to be returned to their owners for punishment. 18--By the late 17th century, the institution of slavery was a integral part catholic church. Church only placed restrictions on the purchase and owning of slaves: "They had to be non-Christian who imported slaves with expulsion from the denomination." 19----In Exodus 21:1-6 he sets forth the guidelines for the buying, selling and treatment of slaves. He says that if a male slave marries his wife and children shall remain with the master when the slave departs because, technically speaking, they belong to the master. WHAT AM I STATING? Bible supported slavery and still Christains eradicated slavery. My argument is we have to do the same. Let us eradicate caste system for the betterment of Hinduism and India.

Dear sir, I wanted to bring forth these words to make u clear that slavery is not a part of Christianity. If people misunderstood or misused the scriptures for their selfishness, it is their mistake. Please go through these words carefully, so that you can understand the truth... ((Mathew:22 & Mark:12:33-34 36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38. This is the first and great commandment. 39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.)) These are the words spoken by Jesus when Pharisees & Sadducees questioned them to tempt him. He told that these two commandments are most important and primer of all the scriptures. "YOU SHOULD LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF." Is not the so called slave our neighbour and should not we love him as we love ourselves. if we love him as ourselves will he be a slave or will he be treated as a slave. If every follower of Christ, follows this commandment, how can he support slavery? They are supporting slavery means, they are not following the God's commandments and they are not the true children of Lord. ((Mathew:20 26. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27. and whoever wants to be first must be your slave-- 28. just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.")) These are the words spoken by Jesus when his disciples asked him, what they should do to be great? He said those who wanted to be honored must first humble themselves. Jesus himself exercised it and showed it by washing the feet of his disciples. He told that, he came to server but not to be served. In the same passion he wants his followers to server but not to be served. So how can people who follow this support slavery and down look their fellow members as slaves? ((Mathew:8 5. And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6. And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. 8. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 13. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.)) This is the conversation between a Centurion and Jesus. The centurion came to Jesus for begging him to heal his servant who fell ill. This shows the love of a master to his servant. Verse 9 shows how great man the centurion is. A man in that much great position came to Jesus in person to beg Jesus to heal his servant. Jesus calls him as a faithful follower in the verses following. In the same manner should every Christian love his servant. If he loved that much will it be called slavery??? ((Mathew:18 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.)) This is the parable spoken by Jesus regarding the eligibility to enter God's kingdom (heaven). It shows how the master excused and cancelled the owe or loan of his slave. 10,000 talents means the value comes to millions. If we read the complete parable, the moral in that is one should excuse his fellow neighbor as God excused his sins and mistakes. //Sir, in your former article you mentioned that St.Paul is the first who introduced Christianity. Actually St.Paul worked and wrote about the church life and relation between the fellow members. He mainly urged all the followers of Christ to come under subjection as one body in Christ. He concentrated on the brotherly love among the believers. The following are the words were written by him. He mentioned that all are equal and on in the sight of God. And each member is a part of the body of Christ. So how can one part of the body treat other part as a slave??? ((Gal:3 26. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond(slave) nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.)) ((1 Chor 12 12. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 21. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 23. And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.)) ((Ephes:6 5. Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; 6. Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7. With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: 8. Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. 9. And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.)) Here he asked servants to be obedient to his masters and in the same manner masters to be merciful with servants and to threaten them... In this if we refer we can find many references which proves that Christianity does not support slavery... Of course many people might have raised some points from scriptures and might have proved that slavery is acceptable according to Bible to fulfill their own desires. It is their selfishness n their own will, but not the will of God... So please understand this and know the truth... I already told that scriptures can't be understood by anyone when they simply read them. one should meditate them with true spirit after praying god to reveal the secret or meaning in them. without all these some people will read according to their own will and also they do things according to their own wish... that is not Christianity... Seeing or hearing to those false preachers, we need not blame that slavery is Christian culture So I think that, this is sufficient to make clear that slavery is not a part of Christianity... Hope that this will not hurt anybody... If It did so, i sincerely apologize.
