| Assad was a shia and Saddam was a sunni.Since both were arabs,they had different views.Like Indian leaders,Arab leaders did not like other leaders to grow tall.Ego factor was the main reason.Hizbollah was a shite organisation and thats why it will never support or help Saddam.Since Saddam butchered thousands and thousands of shias in his country.Thats why Assad supported Iran during the Iran-Iraq war since he was shite.As a fellow shite, he had compulsions to support Iran.The Arab dream will never be acheived until USA is weakened as happened when Britain became very weak after the second world war and granted independence to India.
