mr.rithym rithym Further to my comment dt.31st July 2003, I reproduce below two of some letters written by the immigrants on this subject for your kind information. EXTRACT OF SOME LETTERS WRITTEN TO THE EDITOR, VOICE WEEKLY.MISSISSAUGA, CANADA August 1, 2003 (1) WHAT A WASTE OF HUMAN POTENTIAL - Majo Mathew Read with interest the recent letters from V.Iyer and the subsequent comments to that. It is indeed a pity that the best brains from countries al over come here and they end up doing odd jobs. It will benefit the individual as well as Canada if the immigrants are integrated into the society in a more respectable manner. Professionals from all walks of life flock in here and then they have to start again from scratch … all their experience and education goes down the drain. Which country will aloow such waste of their most precious human resoucces? I have seen the ups and downs of this country and am left with a bad taste in the mounth. I sympathise with all my fellow immigrants who go through the same experience. I want to take this opportunity to call upon the Canadian Government and their representatives to take this as a challenge and strive to really make Canada the best place for citizens and immigrants alike - (2) IYER GOT IT RIGHT -N.S.Bagga Mr.V.S.Iyer has rightly pointed out the facts in the weekly Voice 25th. July which was over due. The Government should now collect and complete statistics to see how many Phds. Engineers, Scientists, Doctors and teachers have reached Canada but have not been provided proper jobs as per their qualifications. It may not be too late as such the provincial as well as Federal Governments should take immediate action. The media is also requested to help the Migrants in this regard. (There are many letters like this, I hope these two are enough to convince you to realise the pathetic situation of the landed immigrants in Canada)

Mr.rythm rythm, Glad that your friends got confortable jobs in Canada with US 5-6 years IT experience. If you kindly give their details, the poor immigrants in this country will approach them and learn how to get suitable jobs. I am still in Canada. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND HIGHLY SKILLED PERSONS FROM INDIA WHO LEFT JOBS AND CAME HERE ARE STILL WORKING IN A COMPROMISED JOBS WITH LESS WAGES PER ACTUAL HOURS WORKED TO SURVIVE. THE DISPARITY IS STILL THERE FOR NOT CONSIDERING ANY QUALIFICATION FROM ANY COUNTRY OTHER THAN CANADA. IF POSSIBLE PLEASE OPEN WEB SITE www.weeklyvoice.com for week 17-24 July and prior weeks also. You will find some letters on this subject. Even in Canadian daily news paper Torento Star,in their daily dated 20-7-2003 there was an article on the low income of immigrants .If the persons can undergo training and get Canadian certificates in those trades, no doubt there are many chances for them to get decent jobs. But to get training involve huge expenditure. I do not mean to discourage candidates to come here, but let them know the fact and be ready to face any adverse situation till they get suitable jobs after training. So, what I actually want to caution the candidates is, let them get clear understanding in writing from the agencies whether they can be assured of getting jobs to suit their qualifications before they spend huge amount to get landed immigration to Canada.

Ofcourse, they have around 5-6yrs US experience. Do you think still this is a problem? Are you in canada right now? --rhy
