| You've raised an interestin question.Many people believe that to do film music one need not neccessaryily be trained in classical music.Many people know that music director chakravarthy came to this field to become an actor first but he ended up composing highest number of songs in telugu field.I do agree that he has some knowledge in music.It need not necessarily be true that untrained musicians are not as good as thier trained counter parts.vidyasagar is said to be a very good trained musician but hasnt delivered hit music in telugu.Radhakrishnan is already sounding repititive although he has a classical background.Devisriprasad himself admitted that he knows how to play instruments but doesnt have any classical background.But i guess he is doing fine.The point is every trained musician cannot become a rahman or a ilayaraja for example and every untrained musician cannot vanish like R.P.It all depends on how creative they are.Anyway good post though.
