Let me first make it clear that I am neither a Socialist nor a Communist and nor am I a leftist-leaning person. I am not Anti-American either. I would call myself a ‘humanist’, if I have to give myself a label. I wrote this article only as a peace-loving humanist who got inspired by the results of the elections.
I respect your perspective about the US. A fact is a fact even if you label them as“Anti-US rhetoric” whether it is ‘old’ or new. It is a popularly known fact that US attacked Vietnam for no reason and killed millions. Infants, children, old people who got nothing to do with US were killed by US, and these nations had never attacked on the USA. I respect your perspective if you view these killings as ‘guts’ of the USA and I respect your perspective if you view it as ‘help’ done to those nations by the USA.
What you call ‘guts’, some call it ‘aggression’ and other call ‘invasion’ and they react with violence. Goondas, mafia, terrorists, corrupt communist and capitalist leaders and even intellectuals such as you believe in ‘violence theory’ and hence, violence is increasing day by day, despite our claims of making great progress.
You are absolutely right. Even leftist and communist governments have done a lot of inhumane things and they should be condemned by one and all.

Most of what you wrote is old anti-USA rhetoric of people that hate USA's guts.
Agreed time to time, some administration makes mistake. But over all US citizens correct the course and steer on to the righteous path. All leftist Governments aren't pious. There is a lot of murder and mayhem behind these 'juntas' coming to power. Far more people are helped by USA's intervention than hurt. Violent people can only be dealt with violence. No country has as effective a system of steering back to the right course as USA.

The political mess is due to the rapacious military industrial complex that propels USA into fomenting trouble all over the world. It is a gargantuan political and economic juggernaut. It is simplistic and meaningless to compare this with other political problems around the world. The general public in USA is shockingly ignorant of the momentous events taking place elsewhere. The middle class even in USA is being hit hard by the turmoil. Leftist parties are winning elections in Central and Latin American countries as the author has pointed out.
