Bhagwan Baba knows what he is talking. He is not given to talking unreasonably.
It is true that all the backward areas need to be given special attention. Rayalaseema & North Andhra are worse off than Telangana. Within all these backward areas, there are some areas which are more backward than some others.Same is true in many other states.
Therefore, is it right to break-up AP into North Andhra, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra, North Telangana, South Telangana etc etc. Even if the present state is thus divided into Four/ Five smaller states, there is no common opinion amongst them as to where they should have capitals within themselves.
During the last 50+ years, many people have moved from one region to the other and intermingled/ married from other areas. The state had spent vast sums of money in the capital, at the cost of the rest of the state. People from almost all the regions have invested heavily in the Capital city. They all have personal/ business/ official interests in the Capital.
This is true of, not only AP, but many other states. So,what should the powers-be do, at the national level? What do the people, of the backward regions of various states, think that national leaders should do, to solve the backwardness of those areas? If, let us say, one of the votaries of the division of the states, is made the Prime Minister of the country tomorrow, how will he take care of the interests of all backward regions of the country? Surely, he cannot divide the country into 120 or 150 smaller states? It is impossible. The only solution is to pay 'focussed attention' on the development of all the backward regions.
We all agree that a country's interests are higher than a state's and a state's interests are higher than an area's. An individual's interests must come always last.
Unfortunately, present day leaders seem to think that their 'personal/political interests' must come before everything else. And, some ordinary people cannot think of the larger issues affecting the country as a whole.
Baba is not an ordinary man.
