I wonder what is the basis for this tradition of puri temple? Is it the same logic as, that is behind thousands of yrs of denial of temple entry to lower classes in hindu society? Any historians?

The question is 'What business a foreigner and christian has in a Hindu Temple. One should note that our temples are not museums or Zoo. They are places of worship. One who has faith in the Deity should only be allowed to offer prayers.
The author is rubbing on the wrong side and harping on the non issues.

ఒక చిన్న చేంజ్...మీరు అన్నట్లు అది పది లక్షలు రూపాయల ప్రసాదం కాదండి. లక్షన్నర రూపాయలు. ఈ విషయంలో గోపిక గారు అన్న మాటలు నేను సమర్ధిస్తానండి. వేరే మతం వాళ్ళ సేవల్ని మీరు గుర్తిస్తున్నారే తప్ప...హిందు మతం సేలవు మీరు గుర్తించట్లేదు. వాళ్ళు మాత్రమే ఈ సమాజ సేవలు చేస్తున్నారా? అలా అయితే శంకర కంటి ఆస్పత్రులు ఎలా వచ్చాయండి? చెప్పాలంటే ఇంకా చాలానే ఉన్నాయి.
నా ఉద్దేశం ఏంటంటే...మన హిందూధర్మాన్ని కొన్ని కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో కొన్ని కొన్ని విధాలుగా పాటిస్తారు. అలానే ఆ ప్రాంతపు ఆచారాల ప్రకారం వాళ్ళు చేసారు. దానికి మీరు మొత్తం హిందూధర్మం మొత్తాన్నే తప్పుపట్టటం చాలా విచారకరం.

Critical analysis of own's own relegion, faith or beliefs and their sacred books from time to time is very important. No religion is perfect, but what makes a great religion is its ability to mold it self to cater the needs of its own people from time to time.

It is unbelievable (or very hard to believe) that the prasaadam costs 10 lakhs of rupees per day in Poori.

Both of you have valid points.
There is good and bad everywhere. In people, in religions. No religion is 100% good and no person is 100% good.
Let's not generalise based on few incidents.
Even if the Andhra Jyothi news is correct, it's a mistake of the person who took the decision at that time. The same person may not do the same thing next time, even if the same situation arises. The temple may not have the same person as the decision maker next time.
