Mr Mattam,
In 2006, Money sent by all NRIs to India is 1,04,000 Crore rupees. The money sent by NRIs is mostly invested in Shares/Mutual Funds/Real Estate. And only by these investments, Share market or real estate are booming. Only the middle class families are benefiting more on the rise of these two sectors. These middle class families are becoming crore-patis in single night.
Ok, coming to the accountability of the 10% money on indian economy... Each and every paisa flowing into the Indian market, is helping the people in India. Ask me how... The money flowing to India as expenses, will help the retailers, the businesses, the daily workers, no limit...
Coming to praising the NRIs by politicians, NRIs are not politicians. If politicians are playing games, it is not our mistake. We came here to live for ourselves. In 50s thru 80s going to abroad is non-patriotic act. Where as now, going to abroad is helping india.
Well, coming to the children of NRIs... may be or may not be all these people are affectionate about india. But, one thing I can tell is,,, 'Who ever does not have love and affection about India, it is their Karma'. You are not god to make it right.

Hi Sparrow!
When someone said 'Don't comment NRIs', I think it's in the context of article. What's the need for RIs to comment NRIs? Just being NRI can't be the base for criticism :) Just like the way a coin has both sides, ppl have both pros and cons to look at. It applies to both RI and NRI. Unfortunately these days every half knowledged person started commenting about NRIs instead of knowing the reality.
Anyways I like your comments. Keep writing good comments which are thought provoking and unbiased :)

Read the latest news on TP. It's scary that terrorists based in Pakistan are investing in Indian money market and real estate business. Please don't blame NRI's for everthing that heppens in India. It's the incapability which makes the frustrated average Indian to blame NRI. You have to be an NRI to understand the NRI problems. They don't earn easy. As you think to spend a dollar NRI thinks more than an average Indian because he knows the value of money, hardwork and what is like earning honestly. I doubt NRI's don't earn through bribes, cheating and deception. As you think NRI's don't have money to though, most of them have loans to pay every month. They get better houses abroad for the same amount of money they have to invest to buy a property in India. If you consider the RISK in buying property in India it's beyond imagination. You don't want to buy a piece of land or property in India only to lose peace of mind if you consider unfair business practices in India. NRI's live abroad but their souls are in India whereas the souls of people living in India are not there!
