| I agree with Mr. Reddy in so far as respect to the local language is concerned. I stayed in Kolar district of Karnataka for 22 years. Strictly speaking, there is no real 'need' of speakig in Kannada there even today. One can manage easily in Telugu there even today for the purpose of communication. After spending the initial 4 years there without learning any Kannada we ourselves felt very bad and made it a point to learn Kannada with the help of our Kannadiga colleagues.
However, this sort of spirit I never found in many non-Telugus in Hyderabad in mid-sixties when I did my B.E. here. And it turned from bad to worse these days.
On one hand I find 'indecent' haste among Telugus either to forget or mutilate their mother tongue directly or indirectly. Guys coming to this capital from other states are obviously taking advantage of this situation very happily. Most of them never take any interest in picking up some working Telugu at least. In stead, hey pick up the 'chaaloo' Hindi. However, we Telugus have to be blamed for this situation. We do not allow them to learn Telugu and on the other hand we try to either please or appease them by speaking either in 'Hindi' or 'Urdu' as the case may be. After all, we are belittling ourselves through this 'uncalled for' 'emotional exuberance'. One can see a lot of hotel suppliers from Bihar, Autorickshaw-waallahs from the adjoining Maharashtra and Rajasthan-based shop owners in Hyderabad who never care to talk in Telugu even after their continued stay in this city for many years.
No doubt, interest and curiosity are the driving force behind learning any language. But, how can any one have these 'traits' when he is 'overwhelmed' by the native Telugus who are not allowing him even to respect it?
To conclude, it is our own making and we have already started paying a heavy price for it. The result may not be tangible today, but its consequences cannot be escaped.

Three language formula will destroy the regional languages. Hindi speaking belt will never learn a third language and they also refuse to learn English. Non-Hindi speaking Indians should stick to two-language forumula - English and their mother tounge. People who wanted to settle in other part of India, they should learn the local language as a respect to that region. Many telugu medium students are having tough time in communicating both in telugu and English becuase of three language formula.

Telugu people have to follow the same model as Tamil people to achieve the best results in every aspect. They don’t need to waste their time by learning Hindi but it can be optional whoever wants it and thinks useful they can learn it. Learning mother tongue and one national language i.e. English is more than enough to communicate and compete with anybody. Don’t allow so called Hindi national leaders to dominate any other regional language leaders. It is the time to fight against this dominance and fight for equal opportunities in every area like civil, defense, political etc.,
