Thanks for explaining the issue in a comprehensible manner. I do differ with one view: That is the pseudo military strategic assumption of US attempting to build India as a deterrent to China. The reality is US has more investment in China than in India. US owes, China one trillion dollars in trade surplus. Investments in China by US businesses is ever increasing and US dependency on Chinese goods is ever increasing.
It is the nations business interests that lead to wars and not military interests. All Govts in the world work to better their nation's business interests as they are a corollary to economic interests of the country and its people. Military role is to augment these interests.
As long as US and China have a strong business interest in each other, psudo military startegic thinking of US building India as a deterrent to China is absurd and lacking in facts.
123 is a well negotiated treaty and the CPM guys should be shot and sent to China and India should venture boldly on the path of alliance with US and use every opportunity to economically uplift its Billion plus population. Anything else is stupidity!
