Anything u type between '# Tel' and '# Tel' (Remove the sapce between # and Tel) appears in Telugu'
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 5, Dec 2007 7:56:03 PM IST Script is not the issue here - they may use Telugu script .. but are they allowed to officially communicate in their language without Telugu Script?
It's Jut not Tamil or Telugu .. we have Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, bengali, Oriya, Assamese etc ... You can not expect every person to learn 20 languages.
As of Telugu fonts ...
You need to start typing with '# Tel' .. (remove the Space in between # and Tel)
Type your transliterated text ... for example to say elA unnAru? you want to type elA unnAru .. use Capital letters for deerghaalu
End your message with # and Tel again (with No space in between)
Hope it helps!

Posted by: Bullibasu Bullibasu At: 5, Dec 2007 9:34:27 AM IST Telugu has become the Official Language of Andhrapradesh Govt becuase it is spoken by a Majority of the people, even though there are many Non Telugu Natives in AP ....
Similary Hindi is the official language of the Central Govt becuase it is spoken by the Majority of Indians, even though there are many Non Hindi Natives in India ...
When you dont have any problems in branding the AP Govt with Telugu, why should you have problems in branding the Central Govt with Hindi?
Just for the Sake of the Argument,
Shall I say Ken and BB are one and the same? :)) hehehe Where is my NOBEL PRIZE????? hehehehheehehhe
paapam bullibaasU pani fuTbaal ayyindi Jus Kiddin :))
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 5, Dec 2007 4:52:58 AM IST I guess that MR and BB are one and the same. :)
________________________________________________
Dont tell me you expect a Nobel for this discovery ..
For your Kind information BB was supporting you and Opposing me ... he was objecting to my message not yours ... and of course he is from the East Coast and I am in the Midwest

Coming to your points
1. We shouldnt compare the US with India coz India is a subcontinent. U know what it means apart from being multi-lingual.
--------------------------------------------------
You were comparing US and India when you talked about to people, preferences and Blah Blah I only responded to yours and BB's messages
2.2. As4 Union govt and AP govt control issues, we should focus on the services to the user public. Imagine for a while an all-Hindi announcement in a train or flight btw Kadapa and Vizag. Do u think it's meaningful? This happens all the time. Same goes with Kochi-Coibatore flight/train. We should learn to demand services that are meaningful.
__________________________________________________
Then go demand it .. there is nothing wrong with it .. but as of Now .. there is No Provision to include all the Indian Languages in the Charter of the Union Govt... IF THE GOVT PASSES A LAW TO INCLUDE TELUGU THEN ITS A DIFFERENT STORY .. I AM TALKING ABOUT THE PRESENT ...
What we want is different from what the Practice is ... So If you have any problem then you should ask the Central Govt to pass a law to implement Telugu, instead of blaming the Airlines Employees
3. My nick shudnt be offensive to u. I live in London and & I have this nick. Do u expect me to have a proper Telugu nick like Konda Venkatappayya?
___________________________________________________
Did I say it was offensive .. I have heard of Kondayya becoming Hillman, Vasudev becoming Dave and Manpreet becoming Monty ...
AND BY THE WAY KONDA VENKATAPPAYYA IS NOT AN OFFENSIVE NAME AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IN HAVING THAT NAME .. VENKATA IS AFTER LORD VENKATESWARA AND APPAYYA IS AFTER LORD APPANNA ...
If you feel it is an insult to have a Nick (leave alone the name) like Venkatappayya because you live in London .. It only shows up your Inferiority Complex ...
Being Telugu doesnt compromise our Indian identity
___________________________________________________
Then why do you have problems with Venkatappayya?
Our services sector shud cater to the native ppl effectively.
___________________________________________________
Sure Why not .. but the Employees of the Central Govt cant go agaisnt the principles except in extra-ordinary situations ... Int he spots controlled by the Union Govts, it is advised to speak the LINK languages so that the services cater to the General Public as a whole .. atleast a Majority of them ..
Let me give you an example ...
There are tatleast a Dozen Languages in Andhra Pradesh spoken by Various Native people ... like Chachara, Lambada, Gondi etc ... Going by your Own Logic ... The Airline Employees working in AP should accept complaints in those languages too?
