| If Telugu is not heard in Hyderabad at all, whose mistake is it? It is that of Telugus - be it 'Andhra' or 'Telangana'. These guys take unnecessary pride in speaking other languages, just to impress the other man about their multi-lingual skills.
Our ASRao Nagar, in which area only Telugu was heard till recently, we hear Hindi & Hindi-like languages more 'abundantly' today. Rajasthani shop-owners, Marathi Auto drivers etc. are able to manage very happily at this place too without the necessity of learning Telugu at all. The reason is simple - our ladies and youngsters discouarge them from learning Telugu!
They show their itch for Hindi, under the guise that Hindi must be given proper place as our national language!
So, this problem is a 'joint venture'creation of Telugus - both Andhrites and Telanganites. It is a shameless and unfortunate malady possessed by Telugus alone! If we do not know how to respect our own mother/ mother tongue, how can we expect an outsider to care for us? He will definitely take advantage in making fun of us and precisely that is what is happening today in AP in general and Hyderabad in particular.
