| Yes God is one! we don't know who or where he is..
But one thing he is Untold Powerful..by looking at the heavenly bodies...
Then who are these multiple gods in hinduism?
which is INDUS(hindu) -ism called by people from Mangolia & made Hinduism..
These are called Demi- Gods..God expansions ..or energies due to different yugas creation & work..
All these gods are responsible to the Supreme God whom we talk about as GOD.
When shankara medidates...he medidates on this GOD, when brahma do that , the same..
Infact in previous Yugas humans were like Demi gods reaching different planets outside our universe...
presently http://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/starsgalaxies/index.html 128 planets are already discovered outside our universe..what they contain? the farthest being 24,000 light years..distance light travels for 24,000 years that distance is 24,000 light years..so how still bigger is this outer universe..where is god? how many are more planets? why they are? Noone can be answered..
but in Vedas it is said past yugas people by their power able to reach even other planets...
this yuga is worst of worst? people totally lost even applying small medidative powers..
So how can we guess God? or these God heads..
Let us respect different thoughts of humans in different ways to appreciate the almighty for his prowers & superiority...& have blessings upon us

This is my humble opinion and understanding of GOD which I would like to share with our friends.
Yes GOD is One.
God is not respector of person(which means, caste, sect, colour,creed, rich, poor,religion or faith)
We truely and fully don't understand HIM which is why LOVE the character of GOD brings us closer to HIM through the Creator who is Omnicent, Omnipotenet & Omnipresent.
God exhibits HIS love to us through various ways, some such ways are;
HE speaks through Nature which he created.
HE wishpers through the Breeze and singing of the birds which is HIS creation.
It is not in human capability to understand God fully because of our infirmities only GOD through his eternal LOVE we can understand who GOD is in real sense. Which points to a general question on Love then,whom do you love more yourself or your fellow being irrespective of colour,race, caste,religion,etc..
To love fellow being irrespective of Colour, Race Caste,Religion, Faith, etc is not so easy for anyone human beaing simply because our carnal nature doesn't comprehend Love when we do that then we understand GOD becuase God is Love...

We cant ever reach God. We are fallen from the level where we could have seen God.
Our efforts to reach God are all futile. God knows that. Thats why he stepped down to us to pick us up to himself. Save us from destruction caused by sin. He took that sin on himself and died for us.
