First calculation:

Second calculation:
1st day = 17 grains
3rd day = 3*17 = 51 grains
nth day = n*17 grains
Conclusion:
if he continues to come for 10 years(3650 days) to that house hold's wife, begger gets
3650*17 = 62,050 grains ~~ 500 gms of rice.
letz assume on the average the time he spends standing and begging before that wife's house is 5 mins (minimum)
So total time he would have effectively utilized other than begging = 3650*5 = 18250 mins = 12 days
if he works for 12 days, on the average if he makes Rs.50/day = Rs.600
Begger gets a bag full of quality rice for 600 bucks and he can eat for 1 month !
So, to make begger realize whether begging is worth or not, she must have been doing like that.
