Articles: My Thoughts | Healthy Attitude - Mrs. manjari

We as Indians always feel proud of our roots, our rich cultural heritage and family bonds. I feel really happy to see some Indian students who come here on some projects tell me “Aunty, whatever we have here, it is still not comparable to our life in India. We earn a lot here but we miss something which is very important. They miss their parents, friends and the whole package of the environment and other lovely things which touch anyone’s heart, if they have a real one.
All over India, in all the states, children are generally brought up with some discipline. I find this more in small cities or in villages rather than cities like Hyderabad and other metro cities. I find these young boys coming from remote places and coming up in life and still getting up early morning and praying a particular deity, even if they are away from their families. They are not being supervised by any and they are independent here and earning heaps of money. But again, it is inherent in them that they know how to lead a purposeful life. I find these kind of people are less as compared to the modern thinking generation.
India is becoming rich in other ways, but people who respect our culture and who wants to adhere to that are becoming less in number day by day. May be it is impact of Media, Cinemas or TV plays.
Having said that, I also find India changing in a fast paced environment and being swayed away by the rapid technological developments. Here it is not really to our satisfaction. It is impacting on people and they are becoming insensitive.
In today's busy and modern technological world, life has become a terrible mess for some people. No one knows where he or she is heading to. So, in order to satisfy their materialistic wants, pleasures and beyond means hi-fi life styles man has become a slave to time. Here, we are not bothered about anyone, except money, status and creating a false image for oneself. Some of them are deviating from the real pleasures of life as they are becoming insensitive and leading self centred lives.
